Bhubaneswar: The well-marked low pressure has intensified into a depression over west-cental Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast.
According to the India Meteorological Department(IMD), the well-marked low-pressure area over west-central & adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal has moved slightly northwards, concentrated into a depression over west-central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast.
It is about 370 km east-northeast of Chennai (Tamil Nadu), 450 km south of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and 640 km south-southwest of Gopalpur (Odisha).
The system is likely to move north-northeastwards during the next 24 hours, the IMD said.
Due to low pressure, the temperature in the Capital city Bhubaneswar also dipped to 18.2°C, which was recorded 26.8 at 2.30 PM on Friday.
