Bhubaneswar: An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Andhra Pradesh at 7.6 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over westcentral-Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh – south Odisha coasts around September 11, according to the India Meteorological Department.
As per IMD prediction, rainfall activity is expected to increase in the state from September 9 due to the system. Heavy rainfall is likely around September 10 and September 12. Initially, rainfall will increase over north Odisha and later over coastal, central and south Odisha districts.
The system is likely to move inland by September 14, following which rainfall activity is expected to gradually decrease across the state.
