Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi announced plans for new government buildings in Bhubaneswar while presenting the state Budget in the Assembly. The plans include a new state assembly building, a new secretariat building, a world-class museum, and an Odisha Mandap convention center. A public shelter will also be built for visitors from outside.
For flood management, Rs 530 crores have been allocated in the budget. Other key allocations include Rs 1000 crores for the in-stream storage structure program, Rs 180 crores for the Nabakrishna Chaudhary Irrigation Development Scheme, and Rs 280 crores for the Chief Minister Adibandh Scheme. Rs 100 crores have been allocated for the river restoration program Sanjivani.
The irrigation target is set at 3 lakh 33 thousand hectares of land, with an additional irrigation target of 15 thousand hectares of land by 2029.
