Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg on Thursday formally launched SĀDHANA Saptah – 2026, a nationwide capacity-building initiative aligned with the vision of Mission Karmayogi, at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The week-long programme, scheduled from April 2 to 8, is being organised by the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration on behalf of the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, Government of Odisha. The initiative has been themed as “Sadhana to become a Karmayogi – building performance-linked competencies through iGOT Digital Platform.”

SĀDHANA Saptah forms part of a larger national effort spearheaded by the Department of Personnel and Training, the Capacity Building Commission, and Karmayogi Bharat to promote continuous learning and develop future-ready, citizen-centric governance systems across states and departments.

At the core of the initiative is the iGOT Karmayogi Platform, which enables structured, self-paced digital learning for government officials. The platform also offers courses in Odia. Officials across departments have been encouraged to complete a minimum of four hours of learning during the week.

Key focus areas of the programme include completion of at least one Artificial Intelligence course under the ‘AI Daksh’ initiative, earning ‘Karmayogi Utkarsh’ certification through marketplace courses, and participation in Samuhik Charcha sessions such as group discussions and webinars on governance themes. Training institutions have also been urged to conduct capacity-building activities using blended learning approaches.

In her address, Garg stressed the need to leverage digital platforms like iGOT to foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and performance-linked competency development within the administrative system.

The launch event was attended by Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, and Chithra Arumugam, Director General of GAA, along with senior officials from key departments.

The state government aims to significantly enhance participation on the iGOT platform during the week, targeting higher course completion rates and broader engagement across departments. Departments and training institutions have been encouraged to share their activities on social media using the hashtag #OdishaSADHANASaptah2026.

The initiative underscores Odisha’s commitment to building a skilled, digitally empowered, and citizen-focused administrative ecosystem.
