Malkangiri: In view of the heavy rain prediction, the Malkangiri district administration has cancelled leaves of all government employees until September 28.

Malkangiri District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay has issued a notification in this regard warning that any deviation from these instructions will invite strict disciplinary action.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s prediction, there is a possibility of a deep depression forming over the Bay of Bengal, which may lead to heavy rainfall, strong winds, and adverse weather conditions in the district over the next few days. In view of this situation and to tackle any potential emergency situation, the District Collector has directed that no officer or staff member of the district can leave the headquarters without prior permission.

This decision aims to ensure that all personnel are available to respond to any emergency situations that may arise due to the predicted heavy rainfall and strong winds.

“It has been reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) that a Deep Depression over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify further and may cause heavy rainfall, strong winds, and adverse weather conditions in this region in the coming days. In view of the above situation, and considering the need for constant preparedness, close monitoring, and immediate response to any emergency, it is hereby ordered that no officer or staff in the district shall leave headquarters without prior permission of the undersigned”, read the notification issued by the Collector.
