Malkangiri: Kalimela police in Odisha’s Malkangiri district busted a major inter-state narcotic racket, seized 50 kg marijuana, 1.6 gm brown sugar, and arrested six persons in connection with the illegal trade on Thursday.
According to reports, a team of Kalimela police intercepted a Honda Sentro car on National Highway No. 326 while patrolling on Thursday night. On inspection, the police found and seized the narcotic substances. In addition, the police recovered cash to the tune of Rs 1,46,000 and seized two cars. “Except one, all the other criminals are from outside the state,” Malkangiri ASP Rahul Goel said.
All the accused have been forwarded to court, he said.
