Malkangiri: In view of the prevailing heatwave conditions, the Malkangiri District Education Office has announced the closure of all schools for students from April 22 to April 25.

As per an official order issued on April 21, the decision has been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of students amid a sharp rise in temperatures. The directive applies to all government, government-aided, and private schools across the district, covering classes from pre-primary to Class XII.

However, the order specifies that the closure is applicable only to students. Teaching and non-teaching staff have been instructed to attend schools as usual from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., in accordance with existing guidelines.

Supplementary examinations for Class V and Class VIII will be conducted as per the schedule issued by OSEPA, Bhubaneswar. School authorities have been directed to ensure adequate arrangements, including drinking water, ORS, and first-aid facilities for examinees.

Administrative work, admissions, census duties, and other essential academic activities will continue during the closure period.

Examinations conducted by boards such as BSE, CHSE, CBSE, and ICSE will also be held as per their respective schedules without any changes.
