Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend’s mother and maternal uncle with a sharp weapon on Sahadevkhunta railway station premises in Balasore.
According to sources, the victim girl, along with her mother and maternal uncle, had gone to meet her former boyfriend, Jatin Pradhan, for a settlement regarding their relationship. During the meeting, a heated argument broke out between both parties.
Enraged, Jatin allegedly attacked his girlfriend’s mother and uncle with a sharp object, seriously injuring both. The victims were immediately rushed to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition and were later shifted to a hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment.
The accused reportedly tried to flee the spot in his bike following the incident. However, he was caught by the police when his vehicle ran out of petrol and was arrested.
Further investigation is underway to determine the full sequence of events.
The incident has caused tension in the area, with locals expressing shock over the brutal attack arising from a personal relationship dispute.
