Bhubaneswar: A gruesome incident has rocked Malipur village under Pattamundai police station in Kendrapara district where a person allegedly hacked his wife and attempted suicide.
According to reports, a domestic dispute led to the gruesome incident, with Pratap Mallick attacking his wife Bharati with the help of a sharp weapon on Monday night.
In the meantime, neighbours intervened and took Bharati to Pattamundai Health Centre. As her condition became critical, she was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Pratap, however, fled the scene but was found unconscious near a pond on Tuesday morning with a poison bottle and a blood-stained knife nearby. He was also taken to SCB in Cuttack for treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
