Man Axes Father To Death In Deogarh, Detained

Bhubaneswar: A 62-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death by his son with an axe following a dispute at Outal village under Barkote police station limits in Deogarh district on Wednesday.

The accused, identified as Hrudananda Behera, has been detained.

According to reports, Hrudananda allegedly got into a heated argument with his father, Balaram Behera, at their residence today morning. In a fit of rage, he picked up an axe and attacked his father multiple times, leading to his death on the spot.

Local residents informed the police, following which a team from Barkote police station reached the village. The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem to Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital.

The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
