Bhubaneswar: In a spine chilling incident, a youth was allegedly pounded to death with a cricket bat on Saturday at Menda village under Tarabha police limits in Subarnapur district.
The deceased youth has been identified as Santosh Hati. While another person has been injured in the incident, the accused managed to flee the spot after committing the murder.
According to reports, the accused visited deceased Santosh Hati’s home at Menda village. The accused who had heated arguments with the deceased over previous enmity battered the latter’s head with a cricket bat leading to his death. While another person was trying to save Santosh he too was attacked by the accused and has been injured. The accused then managed to flee the spot.
Police have launched an investigation into the murder.
