Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly beat his sister’s husband to death following a family dispute in Uliburu Burusahi under Barbil police station limits in Keonjhar district.
The deceased has been identified as Banamali Munda.
According to information, Banamali had been assaulting his wife Shukamati on several occasions. Last Tuesday, he allegedly attacked her head with an axe in a life-threatening manner. Shukamati informed her parental family and called them to counsel her husband. On Friday evening, her brother Ajay Tiria and mother Saraswati Tiria arrived at Shukumati’s place. An argument broke out between Ajay and his brother-in-law Banamali while the former was trying to counsel the latter.
Enraged, Ajay allegedly attacked Banamali, who died on the very spot. After the incident, the accused Ajay fled the scene.
Upon being informed, police have seized the body and started an investigation. A lookout has been issued to arrest the accused.
