Man Beheads Wife In Nayagarh, Surrenders With Severed Head

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking and horrific incident on Saturday, a man beheaded his wife and surrendered before the police with the severed head in Nayagarh district.

The incident occurred at Kankanmendi village under Banigochha police limits under Daspalla block in Nayagarh district.

While the deceased has been identified as Dharitri Bagh (30), the accused—her husband has been identified as Arjun Bagh (35).

According to reports, Arjun had come to Daspalla for some work in the forenoon today. He returned to his home in the afternoon and asked his wife—Dharitri to serve lunch. At that time Dharitri was serving food to her child.

As there was delay in Dharitri serving lunch to Arjun he shouted at her. Both had a spat. In a fit of rage Arjun brought an axe from inside the house and attacked Dharitri, severing her head from her torso. He then packed the severed head in a sack.

Arjun surrendered at Banigochha police station with the severed head of his wife—Dharitri in the sack.

Following Arjun’s surrender at the police station, police reached the spot and have seized the torso.

Inspector In-Charge of Banigochha police station Laxman Dandsena has said that enquiry into the incident is underway.
