Balangir: Police have detained a person for the cold-blooded murder of his sister-in-law at Chitramunda village under Muribahal police station in Balangir district.
The accused Bhojraj Sahu allegedly killed the victim due to jealousy after she got close to another man. The incident took place on the night of May 2. The deceased has been identified as Janaki Sahu alias Ranju.
According to reports, the deceased’s husband, a migrant worker, had been away in another state for a long time. The accused, Bhojraj, took advantage of the situation and developed a relationship with Ranju. However, when another youth from a nearby village entered the picture and grew close to her, Bhojraj became extremely jealous and furious. In a fit of rage, he brutally murdered Ranju.
Bhojraj has been detained by Muribahal police and is currently under interrogation. Police are trying to extract the full truth behind the gruesome murder. Further investigation is underway, and more details are expected to emerge soon.
