Bhubaneswar: A 56-year-old man died after being struck by lightning at Padmathopa village under Bijepur police station in Kalahandi district.
The deceased has been identified as Dudu Harijan.
According to reports, Harijan was grazing cattle in a nearby forest on Thursday afternoon when the incident happened around 4 pm. Villagers rushed him to Lanjigarh hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctor. Following a written complaint from the family, the police registered an unnatural death case and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
