Bhubaneswar: A man was found hanging from a tree in Talanga village under Bhadrak Rural Police Station in Bhadrak district, on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sangram Bala, son of Sanjay Kumar Bala of Jemadeipur village under Badachana Police Station in Jajpur district.
According to reports, Sangram had entered into a love marriage with Yashoda Nayak three months ago. A few days following the wedding, Yashoda’s family allegedly arrived at Sangram’s residence, took their daughter away, and fled.
Following this, Sangram traveled to Bhadrak to bring his wife back. With Yashoda’s continued absence, Sangram reportedly stayed in Talanga village for the past one and a half months, attempting to reconcile with her.
This morning, villagers discovered Sangram hanging from a tree near the pond in his father-in-law’s village.
The deceased’s family has lodged a murder complaint, accusing Yashoda’s family of killing Sangram and staging the hanging to cover it up.
Upon being informed, police and forensic teams have reached the scene and commenced a detailed investigation.
Further updates are awaited.
