Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, the body of 35-year-old Ashwini Kumar Barik was discovered hanging inside his employer’s office at NAC New Market near Panposh Square in Rourkela on Tuesday.
Barik, a resident of Sector-6 C Block, had reportedly left his previous job at a private real estate office a few days ago for reasons unknown.
According to reports, shopkeepers became suspicious when the office remained locked from the inside throughout the day. Peering through the glass window, they found Barik hanging from a ceiling fan and immediately alerted the police.
The body has been recovered and sent to Rourkela Government Hospital for post-mortem. Raghunathpali police have launched an investigation to determine whether the death was a result of suicide or murder.
Barik’s father and brother have demanded a thorough probe into the incident to uncover the truth behind his death.
