Bhubaneswar: A POCSO court in Berhampur on Monday sentenced one Prashant Nahak to 20 years of imprisonment for raping a minor girl in 2022.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Nahak and directed the District Legal Services Authority to provide Rs 5 lakh compensation to the victim.
According to the details of the case, the incident occurred in the Khallikote area of Ganjam district, where Nahak raped the minor girl in 2022.
Following a complaint from the victim’s family, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. After examining witnesses and evidence gathered by the police, t Nahak was convicted by the court.
