Nabarangpur: Nabarangpur POCSO Court on Wednesday sentenced one Motiram Bhatra of Dongariguda village under Nabarangpur police limits to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 for raping and impregnating a minor girl in 2014.
The Court further ruled that in default of payment of fine, Bhatra has to undergo imprisonment for another six months.
The Court pronounced the sentence on the basis of depositions of 18 witnesses.
In addition to that the Court ordered the District Legal Services Authority to pay a compensation of Rs 12 lakh to the victim.
