Man & Grandson Killed In Lightning Strike In Ganjam

Berhampur: In a heart-wrenching incident, a man and his grandson were killed in a lightning strike at Narayanpur village under Patrapur block in Ganjam district on Monday. The deceased have been identified as M Sakili Kaniari and M Bhubesu Kaniari.

According to reports, Sakili and Bhubesu were grazing their buffaloes in a field near the village when suddenly there was thunderstorm with lightning. The duo took shelter under a tree to protect them from rain.

While Sakili and Bhubesu had taken shelter under the tree, a bolt of lightning struck, leaving them critically injured.

Locals rushed them to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Patrapur. However, they were declared dead by the attending doctors at the CHC.
