Bhubaneswar: Bhadrak Town Police arrested a person for allegedly raping his minor niece during the Raja festival.
According to police sources, the incident took place when the girl was alone at home. The accused, identified as the victim’s uncle, took advantage of the absence of other family members and sexually assaulted the minor. He also threatened her to keep silent.
After the family members returned, the girl narrated the harrowing ordeal to them. The family then lodged a complaint at Bhadrak Town Police Station on Tuesday night.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, Bhadrak Town Police arrested the accused and initiated further investigation.
