Bhadrak: A shocking incident of murder has been reported from Telasahi village under Bhadrak Rural Police Station in Bhadrak district, where a man died after he was given liquor and then brutally beaten and scalded with hot water by a person from the same village.

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s elder brother, Gagan Malik, a labourer, was allegedly invited to the accused’s house. The accused, who had an illicit liquor business, had given country liquor to Gagan after work.

Later, for some reason, the accused reportedly beat Gagan and poured hot water on him. The victim was later found in a serious condition near the accused’s house and was rushed to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, where he was declared dead.

The Bhadrak Rural Police Station has registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Additional Superintendent of Police Aurup Abhishek Behera confirmed that two people have been detained in connection with the incident. The investigation has been handed over to a special officer, and further action will be taken based on the investigation report.

The police are investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those responsible for Gagan’s death.
