Ganjam: An elderly man died while his son sustained critical injuries after coming in contact with a high-tension wire in Adapa village under Hinjili police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Kora Behera.

According to reports, Kora Behera and his son Tofan Behera had gone to their farm on Monday morning. While Kora was digging a taro root (Saru) from the soil, he came in contact with an 11 KV wire that snapped off and fell on him. Toofan, who was nearby, rushed to save his father and sustained burn injuries as he too came in contact with the high-tension wire.

Local villagers rushed the father and son to Adapada Primary Health Center where Kora was declared dead. The injured youth has been admitted to the MKCG Hospital for treatment.
