Bhadrak: A man was killed while his son sustained critical injuries a road mishap in Odisha’s Bhadrak district late on Tuesday night. The accident took place near the new bus stand on the National Highway No 16 in Bhadrak.
The deceased has been identified as Dhaneshwar Behera and his son has been identified as Chandra Sekhar Behera. Both are from Ahias area of Jajpur district.
According to reports, wrong route driving led to the accident. The man and his son were on their way to Jajpur area from Charampa in Bhadrak on a motorcycle. Near the new bus stand they first hit a divider and both were thrown off the vehicle. Subsequently, a truck coming from the opposite direction ran over them, killing the man on the spot.
While the truck driver fled the spot with his vehicle, local youths rushed Chandrashekhar Behera to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.
