Kendrapara: A man was killed in a crocodile attack at Singidi village of Katanabania panchayat under Rajkanika police limits of Kendrapara district late on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Sanatan Samal.
According to reports, Sanatan had to go to take a bath in the pond on Tuesday night but did not return home. While searching for him, his family members found his bicycle and slippers on the pond’s bank.
Upon seeing a crocodile feasting on Sanatan’s body near the pond today, villagers informed the latter’s family. The deceased’s family members and other villagers reached the spot and recovered the body from the grip of the crocodile.
On being informed Rajkanika police have launched an investigation into the matter.
