Cuttack: A man allegedly killed his wife over a family dispute and then tried to end his life in Cuttack Shidheshwar Sahi on Wednesday. The man has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Medical College.
The deceased woman has been identified as Bishnu Priya, while her husband is Biswajit Mall. Bishnu Priya was a constable at the Cyber Police Station here, Biswajit runs a business.
Biswajit and Bishnu Priya married in 2019 and the couple has a 5-year-old daughter. According to reports, the relationship between the two was not good and Bishnu Priya wanted a separation. On Wednesday, Biswajit came home and started a quarrel with his wife. As the quarrel intensified, Biswajit slit his wife’s throat with a knife in a fit of rage. Next, he tried to end his life by slashing his throat but was rescued and admitted to hospital in critical condition.
The police along with a scientific team are investigating the crime.
