Bhubaneswar: A person allegedly murdered his wife using a scarf at Chamarasahi under Talabania police station in Puri district, on Saturday.
The accused, Badal Behera, worked as a security personnel at the Jagannath Medical College, while his wife, Saudamini Behera, was a staff nurse at a private hospital.
According to reports, the couple had a troubled marriage, with frequent quarrels over petty issues. The situation escalated on Saturday, when Badal, in a fit of rage, allegedly strangled Saudamini using her scarf.
After committing the crime, Badal reportedly surrendered at the Talabania police station.
Meanwhile, police seized the body and are conducting further investigations with the help of a scientific team.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing outrage and demanding justice for the victim.
