Man Sentenced To 20 Years In Jail For Raping Minor In Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A court today sentenced a 20-year-old man to 20 years of imprisonment for raping a minor girl four years ago in Anandpur police station in Keonjhar district.

Special POCSO court Judge Shubhashree Tripathi also directed Maha Tudu (20) to pay a fine of Rs 23,000. He would undergo 15 months more imprisonment in default of payment of the fine.

On May 10, 2019, a minor girl went to a fair held in Jitubeda near Anandpur police station. Maha Tudu had abducted her and assaulted her sexually.

She narrated her ordeal before family members following which they filed a complaint in the police station.  Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested Tudu.
