Rayagada: A woman was found brutally murdered in a house near Hatmuniguda near Ramakrishna Mission under Muniguda police limits in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Nandini Nayak of Burujuguda village. She worked as a gardener at the Ramakrishna Mission and lived at a relative’s house nearby most of the time. Her body was found in that house with her throat slit.
According to reports, Sami Chandra Nayak killed his wife Nandini Nayak by slitting her throat with a blade over a family dispute. After committing the crime, he surrendered at Muniguda police station.
Later, Muniguda police reached the spot and started an investigation into the crime. Sami Chandra Nayak has been detained by the police for interrogation.
