Puri: In a shocking incident, a man following a drunken brawl allegedly killed his elder brother by stabbing him with a smashed liquor bottle at Mukundaspur village under Balipatna police limits of Khordha district late on Thursday night.
The deceased has been identified as Jagu Bhoi of Mukundaspur village. Balipatna police have detained deceased Jagu’s younger brother Raja Bhoi in this connection.
According to reports, late on Thursday night Jagu and Raja had a fight following a drinking session. Raja attacked Jagu with a broken liquor bottle.
As a result of Raja’s stabbing with a broken liquor bottle, Jagu’s intestines spilled out.
Jagu whose condition was critical was initially rushed to the Government Hospital at Pipili by 108 Ambulance Service.
As Jagu’s condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
With further deterioration in Jagu’s health condition, he was shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital at Cuttack.
However, he succumbed to his injuries at the SCB Medical College & Hospital today morning.
On being informed, Balipatna police picked up Raja from his house and detained him.
