Bhubaneswar: Vigilance officials today apprehended Rabi Sahu, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Mancheswar Police Station while demanding and accepting bribe.
Sahu was caught by the Vigilance while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant, an owner of an eatery threatening to frame in a case otherwise, informed a press communiqué issued by the Vigilance.
Vigilance officials recovered and seized the entire bribe money from Sahu.
The accused has been booked under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act of 2018.
Further investigation in the matter is underway, the press communiqué added.
