Bhawanipatna: Security personnel on Thursday busted a Maoist camp in Gunduri reserve forest near Manaska village under Bhawanipatna Sadar police limits of Kalahandi district leading to the seizure of a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Kalahandi SP Abhilash G said that they received intelligence inputs about the movement of Maoists in the Gunduri reserve forest near Manaska village under Sadar police station limits on Thursday.
Security forces led by the SP and CRPF commandant Pankaj Choudhury carried out a combing operation in the forest.
During the combing operation in the forest, security personnel discovered a Maoist camp.
However, Maoists managed to flee the spot deserting the camp and leaving behind a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
Police have seized 58 live cartridges, 10 detonators, hand grenades, 500 grams of gunpowder, gelatin sticks, electric wires, Maoist uniforms and other materials from the camp.
