Nuapada: In a significant anti-Maoist operation, the CRPF 216 Battalion achieved a major breakthrough after busting a Maoist camp in the forest near Dhekunpani village under the Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary in Odisha’s Nuapada district.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, security personnel launched an intensive combing operation in the area under Komna police station limits. During the search, sniffer dogs assisted the forces in locating the Maoist hideout concealed deep inside the forest.

Upon inspection of the camp, the security forces recovered a cache of materials suspected to be used for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The seized items included 70 gelatin sticks, three steel containers, two injection syringes, and four bundles of electric wire, among other materials.

Officials said the recovery indicates ongoing Maoist activity in the region and highlights the continued efforts of security forces to curb insurgency in the area. Further search operations are underway to track down any Maoist operatives linked to the camp.
