Malkangiri: Outlawed CPI (Maoist) activists on Thursday night killed two villagers of Duled village in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district adjoining the Odisha border accusing them of being police informers.
The deceased have been identified as Sodi Hunga and Madhvi Nanda, both residents of Duled village. The bodies of the victims were spotted lying outside the village on Friday morning.
The Maoists Peoples Liberation Guerrilla Army has claimed the responsibility for killing the two villagers allegedly for working as police informers. At the same time, the extremists have held the BJP government in Chhattisgarh responsible for the two deaths.
It is worth mentioning here that there has been a spurt in Maoist violence in the region recently. On February 18, the extremists hacked to death an off-duty Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) company commander in insurgency-hit Bijapur of Chhattisgarh.
