Phulbani: Two JCB machines engaged in road construction work were allegedly torched by Maoists at Kiamunda village under Phiringia police limits of Kandhamal district on Monday night.
Reportedly, the two machines belonged to a firm named Trishakti that was undertaking the construction of road from Nuapadar to Pindangi.
Last night, when not a single person was present at the construction site, the Maoists set the machines on fire and also left a poster at the spot threatening to boycott the ensuing panchayat polls.
On getting information, Phiringia Police reached the spot and have initiated a probe into the matter.
