Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has made extensive preparations for the India-South Africa T20 match at Barabati Stadium on December 9. Tickets will be sold to OCA-affiliated organisations today and tomorrow, with 11,000 tickets allocated. The general public can purchase tickets from November 5 at 10 am.
The police have deployed 40 platoon forces, with 28 platoons per shift, including 6 ADCPs, 15 ACPs, 40 Inspectors, and 150 SIs and ASIs. To prevent black marketing, 50 CCTV cameras will be installed at ticket counters, connected to the control room.
A medical team and fire brigade will be on standby. Security arrangements are in place for the teams’ arrival, practice, and stay, including transportation from the airport to the hotel. Police Commissioner S Devdutt Singh chaired a police readiness meeting to ensure a peaceful match.
Both the Indian and South African teams will arrive in Bhubaneswar on December 7. They will practice at Barabati Stadium the next day. The Commissionerate Police has made security arrangements for the teams’ arrival at the airport, their stay at the hotel, and transportation to and from the stadium to ensure the T-20 match is concluded peacefully. A police readiness meeting was held in this regard.
