Jagatsinghpur: A massive whirlwind struck the Saanga area of Ambiki panchayat under Erasama block in Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday, damaging several thatched houses in the locality.
The whirlwind, estimated to have a diameter of around 200 metres and a height of approximately 800–900 metres, swept through the area, destroying thatched structures that came in its path.
However, no damage was reported to human settlements, and no casualties or injuries were reported. Despite the intensity of the phenomenon, the local population remained unharmed.
