Bhubaneswar: In a significant breakthrough, Berhampur police arrested Uma Bisoi, believed to be the mastermind behind the brutal murder of senior advocate and BJP leader Pitabash Panda.
Bisoi, considered a key accused, was nabbed on Monday, and investigations reveal that he not only planned the assassination but also arranged contact with professional sharpshooters who executed the crime.
According to reports, Bisoi was the key planner behind the murder, operating under the directions of influential associates. He facilitated connections with hired shooters and handled the financial aspects of the Rs 50-lakh contract killing. Bisoi had been in contact with Kurupatti Bhuyan and Chintu Pradhan, the two contract killers who allegedly shot Panda near his Berhampur residence on October 6.
Bisoi’s arrest is expected to yield significant breakthroughs, potentially leading to the capture of Kurupatti, who remains at large.
