Bhubaneswar: The Mayurbhanj district administration has imposed strict restrictions on media entry to Pahadpur village on June 20, citing high-level security arrangements ahead of the visit by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In an official communication, the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DI&PRO) has instructed all print and electronic media personnel to refrain from visiting or entering Pahadpur village on the day of the VVIP visit. The decision was taken on the recommendation of the District Intelligence Bureau and the Superintendent of Police to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the programme.
The communication clearly states that media representatives will not be allowed entry into Pahadpur on security grounds during the visit.
The district administration has appealed to media houses to cooperate with the security protocols to facilitate the visit without disruptions.
“Hence it is requested to pass necessary direction to DI and PRO, Mayurbhanj, Baripada to communicate the mediapersons not to go to Pahadpur during visit of Hon’ble President of India and Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 20.06.2026 as they will not be allowed for the same on security ground”, read the official communication.
As per the schedule, President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to reach Mayurbhanj on June 19, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected on June 20. Both leaders are likely to visit Pahadpur on June 20 as part of their itinerary.
The visit also includes a major public event at Rairangpur to mark the second anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha.
