The places where the maximum day temperature soared to 40 degrees or more are Bhadrak (40.0), Paralakhemundi (41.0), Boudh (42.5), Sonepur (43.2), Malkangiri (40.0), Titilagarh (41.8), Bolangir (43.0), Bhawanipatna (40.8), Talcher (41.6), Hirakud (40.6), Sundargarh (42.0), Sambalpur (41.8), Keonjhargarh (40.3), Jharsuguda (42.7), Baripada (43.4), and Angul (42.9).
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded maximum temperatures of 38.2 and 39.0 degrees Celsius respectively.
The seaside town of Gopalpur was the coolest place with 30.2 degrees Celsius followed by Paradip with 31.4 and Puri with 32.3.
