Nabarangapur: A 23-year-old youth, who was reportedly working as a migrant labourer in Mumbai, died recently.

The deceased migrant worker has been identified as Trinath Nag, a resident of Sandhimunda village under Chandahandi block in Nabarangapur district.

As per reports, Trinath had gone to Mumbai 10 years ago along with some other youths from the village to work as a labourer and would send money back home to support his family.

However, Trinath fell ill on December 23 and was admitted to the KG Kamath Hospital in Mumbai. Despite receiving treatment, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away on December 28.

Trinath had lost his parents when he was only 17. Following the death of Trinath, his brother Rinku has been left in a precarious situation, with no means to support himself.

Meanwhile, Rinku has requested the district labour officials in writing to perform the last rites of the body in Mumbai as the body has been lying for three days and there is a risk of it decomposing.
