Migrant Worker From Jharsuguda Electrocuted In Gujarat

Bhubaneswar: A 20-year-old migrant worker from Jharsuguda district in Odisha died after being electrocuted while working in Surat in Gujarat.

Karan Negi, a resident of Malidihi village, had gone to Surat four months ago in search of work. He was working as a migrant labourer in a prawn farm under a contractor.

According to reports, Karna was electrocuted while working on Monday. His colleagues took him to a hospital, where he was declared dead. The body is expected to be brought back to Jharsuguda today and will be taken to his village after reaching the District Labour Office.

The incident has sent shockwaves in the village, where Karna’s family and friends are grieving his untimely death.
