Minister Pratap Deb’s Mother And Ex-MLA Sushri Devi Passes Away

Bhubaneswar: The former MLA and mother of Minister Pratap Deb, Sushri Devi passed away at her residence in Cuttack. She was 73.

She was suffering from various old-age-related ailments for long.

Born on October 10, 1950, Devi had started her political career in 1971. In 1990, she had contested the election from Aul Assembly constituency on Janata Dal ticket and won the seat by defeating Congress candidate Dolagovind Nayak. She remained as an MLA from 1990 to 1995.

Later, she was also elected to Rajya Sabha and remained as a member of the upper House from 2002 to 2008.
