Bhubaneswar: A 9-year-old boy was rescued five hours after being abducted from near his house under Bargarh Town Police Station on Sunday.
Reportedly, the son of Jamil Akhtar Khan, Chief Manager-CSR at ACC Cement in Bargarh, was playing near his house at around 6.30 PM yesterday when he was abducted by some miscreants.
The kidnappers had left a note in English near Khan’s house demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh to release the child.
Following a complaint in this regard, Bargarh Town Police sealed all roads leading into and out of the town and conducted raids at various places.
In fear of getting caught, the kidnappers left the child in a forest at around 11 PM and fled. Finding the boy coming out of the forest alone, locals contacted the police and rescued the child.
He was subsequently handed over to his family members. While the child was in a state of shock, police have assured to nab the culprits.
