Minor Drowns While Bathing In Jeypore

Elderly Woman Drowns

Jeypore (Koraput): A 13-year-old boy drowned in the Kolab area under Jeypore Sadar police station on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Takri, a Class VI student.

According to reports, Mahesh had gone to an open storm-water channel to bathe with his friends around 2:30 pm. While bathing, he drowned. His friends immediately informed villagers, who rushed to the spot and took Mahesh to a nearby private hospital. Despite their efforts, doctors declared him dead.

Following the tragedy, Mahesh’s family lodged a complaint at Jeypore Sadar police station. A UD case has been registered, confirmed Sachindra Pradhan, IIC of Jeypore Sadar Police Station.
