Minor Electrocuted While Grazing Cows In Nabarangpur

Bhubaneswar: A minor boy was electrocuted at Paujhuri village under Patakhalia Panchayat of Chandahandi block in Nabarangpur district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Abhiram Jani (12), who had gone to graze cows near his village.

According to reports, an electric wire installed for irrigating a maize field from the nearby river was found lying on the ground. Abhiram accidentally stepped on the live wire, resulting in instant electrocution.

Following the incident, Abhiram’s uncle, Butu Jani, lodged a complaint with the Chandahandi police station. The police promptly reached the scene, initiated an investigation, and sent the body for a post-mortem examination at Chandahandi Community Health Centre (CHC).

The electricity department has also filed a complaint with the police concerning the matter.
