Rourkela: Incidents of crime against women is on the rise in Odisha’s Rourkela. After three incidents of rape in just 15 days, reports of a minor girl being allegedly molested by her father’s friend for over two years has come to the fore.
According to reports, the heinous crime came to the fore after the girl, aged around 17 years, summed up courage and narrated her ordeal before her family.
Following this, the victim’s family members lodged a complaint with the Raghunathpali police in Rourkela on Saturday. In their complaint, the family members alleged the man, identified as Rajen Srivastav (48) of Civil Township, was like a relative to the family. He allegedly abused the minor girl sexually during the last two years.
The girl reportedly remained silent as the accused allegedly threatened the girl that he would kill her if she revealed the matter to her family.
The victim has undergone a medical examination, while the accused is said to be absconding since the girl’s family lodged the complaint with the police.
