Bhubaneswar: A 13-year-old minor girl attempted suicide by consuming poison after a man attempted to rape her in the Satyabadi area of Puri district. The incident occurred when the girl was working on coir.
The victim, who is currently undergoing treatment in Bhubaneswar, was admitted to Sakhigopal hospital in a serious condition before being shifted to the Capital city due to her deteriorating health.
According to reports, the accused identified as Aju Pradhan
attempted to rape the minor girl while she was working, but she managed to escape through trickery. The accused allegedly threatened to kill her if she informed anyone about the incident.
The victim’s father filed a complaint with the Balanga police station after his daughter informed him about the incident and her subsequent consumption of pesticide. A special team has been formed to apprehend the accused, and police are conducting raids in various locations.
