Bhubaneswar: A 17-year-old girl from Bihar was found writhing in pain with multiple injuries on the roadside at Ashok Nagar under the Capital police station limits late Friday night.
She was allegedly gang-raped and abandoned in critical condition. Local auto-rickshaw drivers, upon discovering her groaning in agony, alerted the police and helped rush her to Capital Hospital for urgent treatment.
Meanwhile, doctors confirmed she had been sexually assaulted and admitted her to the ICU in critical condition. She could barely speak, but managed to tell doctors she was from Bihar.
Capital police have registered a case under the POCSO Act and launched an investigation, scanning CCTV footage from the area.
A manhunt is underway for the accused, and efforts are ongoing to contact the victim’s family in Bihar.
