Phulbani: A minor girl, whose newborn baby had died after delivery on Thursday, also passed away during treatment at G Udaygiri Community Health Centre (CHC) in Kandhamal district on Friday.
Reportedly, the minor girl was a Class VII student. She had been housed at the Subhadra Seva Sadan in G Udaygiri after she was found pregnant.
After she complained of labour pain on Thursday, she was admitted to the CHC where she gave birth to a son. However, the child died soon after the birth.
The bodies were sent for postmortem and a case was registered in this regard. After receiving a complaint from the girl’s father, police have reportedly detained a minor boy studying in Class 10.
